Christmas Card Making at our House

Yep, making Christmas cards - with plenty to make.

Having trouble getting the kids motivated this year. We are apart of the Kids Craft Weekly International Christmas Card swap again - my goal to get all the cards out on Friday - I am ashamed to say we havent made any yet for this!

Visit here for our past four years of Christmas card making.

Finally I can tick off family portraits 2010 off my to do list. The wonderful Gail from imagesbygail came around in the early sunlight of Sunday and took our portraits - looking forward to seeing them all.

Finally posting about the School Holidays (which finished two weeks ago!)

This was AWESOME - the image doesn't really do it justice - but the rock formation looked like a time warp - which is were I have been in the last two/three weeks since the end of the school holidays - it is a strange feeling - like you are SUPER busy - but don't actually get anything done.

I highly recommend that you get off the Calder on your next trip to Melbourne/Bendigo and check out the Organ Pipes National Park. You could meet this great little fella.

These shots are from a beautiful family day we spent at Kamarooka, hosted by Northern United Forestry Landcare Group - great inspiration for a new project I am working on with the Bendigo Sustainability Group and the Bendigo Field Naturalists - we are putting together a Bendigo Family Nature Club! Will post more and more about this as the project falls into place!

We are having a pikelet fad a the moment - it came about as we opened the pantry and found we had no plain flour for pancakes - but two packets of self raising flour! - perfect for fluffy pikelets. J and I are having an ongoing dispute over the "secret" ingredient!

We had a fabulous long weekend in Mornington with the Waters crew
This outfit was a spot of Great Uncle spoiling!

A special lunch with GreatNan, Aunty Nj and Cousin Q and cooked by the wonderful Grandma

These last shots are by my Mum from an outing she took the kids on - while I enjoyed being kid-less - they went first to see a play and then a play in the local park.

In between all the busy activity we had some quite play - Hj right into jigsaw puzzles at the moment.

New art work in our home

Please note this new art work was not commissioned.

It simply scribbled itself onto the walls of our recently purchased home.

We have moved into our new home

ON Saturday we will have been in our new home (new old home!) for 3 weeks. Allowing myself a big of space to ease back into routine. However the children were very quick to claim the house as their own by painting the back wall on our new shed. "Daddy getting chased by a dinosaur."

This picture is for the Melbourne Cup - just out of a theme for today - I couldn't tell you who won it this year. Had a lovely quiet cleaning day at home with Hj.

Putting a call out for prayer requests for Kd - having a hard time getting him out of his silliness and focusing on real life. Had a chat with his teacher this evening - nearly started crying.

Extra activities

I have caught some sort of bug and have attempted to get the kids involved in extra activities. Kd swimming lessions and gym. Hj dance class. I turn into one of those screaming Mums that everyone looks at really embaressed.

After dropped Kd off to school it was time to go to dance class and Hj announced Mummy I just want to stay home with you. Fair enough I said.

So we made a cubby and had morning tea, went for a bike ride and played dollies.

School Holidays are over

Gee I have just cherished the last two weeks - no work, no school and lots of rain.

I just love hanging out with my kids and I really can not understand why children are required to go to school 5 days a week.

Any how we did lots together (not just watching TV and staying in our jammies all day)

Loads of free activities around town including a mini beasts event at our library.

Friends around to play, a series of birthday parties for Kd, lots of making and creating.

Not to forget a special trip to Macca's - greatnan's shout - wish I took a photo of that afternoon.

a new house

Something crazy happened to J and I. A house came on the market Friday and yesterday afternoon (Saturday) we brought it.

We sold our house back in April and currently renting the same house so buying something would eventually happen.

I am feeling very tired today - up all night worrying about our decision. Balancing out the positives and negative. Like it is another old house and weather board. Oh I could go on and on.

J loves it and although the kids haven't been in it they have already picked out their rooms and are very excited.

Getting a builders report this week and also hoping to borrow a little extra for all those things we would like in our new home like; a new walk in pantry, built in robes, ducted heating, tanks etc....

Perhaps I will get so tired that I will become content with this house.

Click here for a sticky beak.
