ninja

This is the first costume I have made for my children - and I am pretty pleased with myself.

Using Soulmamma's instructions; place of clothing on a piece of fabric and cut around to make new clothing method from her Creative Family Book (thanks Sam and Helen - fantastic birthday pressie) I managed to sew it up in around half an hour!

Does this make me super mum now?

J Fashion Stylist

A little late posting this exciting news - as this profile of a certain man about town was printed in the paper nearly 2 weeks ago. What can I say this man has style.

Salt dough creations

My camera is temporarily out of action with flat batteries and so I am calling on past activities to blog about (this was last Friday) - although lots happened today with a treasure hunt in the bush, lots of mud play, new tress planted out the front of our house by the council with large diggers, biscuit making, a trip to the library, jig saw making and also Hj having her needles (which she was meant to have at 18 months not 2!!! - silly mother!)

Here we are making salt dough creatures

Salt dough is a little different to play dough as the recipe doesn't have oil - so the dough will dry slowly by itself or you can pop it in the oven to cook. We didn't have any directed making outcomes - just free play. Hj making a birthday cake & Kd making a plate. That is a neat match don't you think!

Here is the best bit when the kids start singing for the joy of making!

Hj's Second Birthday

Oh it has been a terrible unexpected time between posts - but I fell into a bit of heap. Needing lots of sleeping and keeping away from computers.

I think it has been nearly 3 weeks since Hj's Second birthday - sorry for the late post.

Here she is on her birthday trike (which she hasn't ridden much at all due to the ongoing wonderful rain we have been experiencing). Just to illustrate how terribly lazy and unimaginative I have been she is eating a donut I purchased up from the IGA on her birthday evening after I picked her up from creche.

Here she is putting her special plastic princess birthday shoes that clip pity clop on our floors!

Perhaps this is what killed me two birthday cakes in a month - although it was fun picking this one to do (although icing with marshmallows was very sweet!)
