Ok so first there was Christmas

I have been too caught up in the real world to spend much time in the world of the Internet. First there was Christmas - which surprised us all - I really wasn't ready for the end of the year - along with gee I don't have a job and any income coming in. But luckily both these anxieties have passed and now I have a bunch of memories to enjoy.

This Christmas was extra special as we meet Madeleine my darling niece who was born and now lives in London.  We all immediately fell in love with this little dumpling.

Did I also mention early morning & during the school holidays I made sure that I did PLENTY of sleeping in (and eating and reading books and watching movies).  Here is evidence of early morning Christmas morning, check out that grumpy.

This image is by Kd - just extraordinary and simply inspirational.  It is Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus.

My London Niece (poem by RW)

Hi

I'm Madeleine

I can:
Smile
Laugh and giggle
Hold my head up
Lie on my tummy
Hold toys and lots of other things
Put things in my mouth
Suck my thumb and fingers
Play peek-a-boo

I like to:
play with my rattle
pull my blanket over my head
Look at the tv
Pause for the camera
Sing at 5am
Push on my legs and kick
Have baths and swim
And I love my mummy and daddy!

Wedding Joy

This is nice - in an apartment in Melbourne - children in bed - and washing underway - husband reading Vogue Living dreaming about what our new house might be like...

It has been a long haul this moving house business - and still only half way - living at my parents. So much has been neglected in the last month or so - especially my blogging, my studio, my drawing, my exercise, well me really.

Here is a treat any how - Hj and I getting ready for a very special wedding. I love these photos.

Hows this pic - Kd on the piano at the reception - he played some fine pieces.

Tree Planting back in the Day

My darling brother sent me through these images of tree planting back in the early '90s when we were still on the farm at Dingee. Must be a forest there now.

Mum started it all of course and had a green house/hot house of little seedlings from seeds she collected herself. It was normal for us to travel with recycled paper bags and collect seeds from trees Mum admired on our family outings. Little brown packets of shakers drying in the car and the dresser in the kitchen.

I remember one time she made a commitment to going for a walk each day and took at least one tree with her to plant.

Thomas Fuller (1654 - 1734) said "He (or she!)who plants a tree loves other beside himself."

I am planning to get involved in this tree growing project once we are in our new home.
